What is ADD?

Hello there! I would like to start my first blog with a simple question:

What is ADD?

Is it really like the classic joke where someone would be talking to you and then gets distracted by a passing butterfly?

Because if that's the case, I believe 2 out of every 3 people have ADD... Did you know that 86% of all statistics are made up on the spot?... Anyway, back to topic...

ADD is a problem involving inattentiveness, over-activity, impulsivity, or a combination thereof... In this day and age, with text messaging and media, I believe most people have a combination of these symptoms. I mean, how many people can actually listen to one full song on their iPod without switching in the middle? How many people watch a full television show without switching to another show during the commercials? How many people can concentrate on EVEN ONE CONVERSATION with a real person without getting distracted by a freakin' TEXT MESSAGE? People can't even DRIVE A CAR without texting! And THAT is life or death!

People have ADD to different levels of severity, but I believe we all have ADD in some form!
